Yes they are.


Genesis 12 and 24

These passages claim that Abraham owned camels and used them for trade and travel.

Genesis 24

This passage is the only detailed early biblical reference to camels. It describes how Abraham's servant traveled a long distance in the desert on ten camels to find a wife for Isaac.

Leviticus 11

This passage states that camels are ceremonially unclean and should not be eaten because they chew the cud but do not have a split hoof.
