Jesus died for us to atone for humanity's sins, acting as a perfect sacrifice to reconcile people with God by taking on the punishment for their transgressions, thus offering forgiveness and the possibility of eternal life through faith in him; essentially, Jesus died as a demonstration of God's immense love for humanity.
